Our Mission at Kids' Chance of South Carolina  

Kids’ Chance of South Carolina is dedicated to the educational success of children affected by a serious work place injury or death.

The mission of Kids’ Chance of South Carolina, Inc. is to provide scholarships and support to the dependents of South Carolina workers who have been seriously or fatally injured in work-related accidents.

We believe that:

• Children are South Carolina’s most value resource;
• We have an ob ligation to give children the tools they need to succeed in life;
• Access to higher education ensures that children have the necessary skills to be successful in the workplace;
• Investing in our children’s future provides them the opportunity to make a difference in their own life and the lives of others.

The benefits from Kids’ Chance scholarships go beyond improving individual students’ lives. Kids’ Chance graduates are working as lawyers, doctors, nurses, environmental scientists, teachers and counselors.  Every day, Kids’ Chance graduates work to make their communities healthy, safe, fair, caring places to live.

Kids’ Chance scholarships certainly help with tuition costs, but they are more than money—they are an investment for a successful future—they are help and hope.

Since 1992, Kids’ Chance of South Carolina, Inc. has been helping the children of injured workers reach their educational goals. More than $700,000 has been awarded in scholarships to deserving students.  

Our families include...

• A nurse who was killed while helping a fellow motorist.
• A grocery store employee who was shot three times during an armed robbery.
• A police officer who was seriously injured in the line of duty.

These are just some of the families that Kids’ Chance of South Carolina, Inc. has helped for nearly 20 years.
